Bushman & Haas’ Ch. 8 “Diversity in Young Adult Literature”
LITERATURE CIRCLE
GROUP 4 - ILLUSTRIOUS ILLUSTRATORS:
Your job is to draw some kind of picture related to the reading. It can be a sketch, cartoon, diagram, flow chart, or stick-figure scene. You can draw a picture of something that's discussed specifically in the text, or something that the reading reminded you of, or a picture that conveys any idea or feeling that you got from the reading. Any sort of drawing or graphic representation is okay—you can even label things with words if that helps. Make your drawing on the poster paper supplied in class. [Important:When you present your illustration to the class, as an adaptation, please have the other groups pose brief possible interpretations before explaining it yourselves. After some possible interpretations, mention any connections and provide your own explanation/intent of the artwork.]
Note: Dr. Young will provide poster paper and markers for you to create your illustration. Afterwards, we'll take a digital picture and post it here. Or, if you want to use an online illustrator with which you're familiar and can be efficient, you may.
